Exterior car detailing in Naples is mostly a fight with four contaminants, and each one keeps its own season.
April–May · Aug–Sept
The residue turns acidic as it bakes, and on a hot hood it starts etching clear coat within a day or two. Scrubbing it dry grinds it in, so we soak it soft and lift it off chemically. During flight season, don't wait for the weekend; our lovebug season guide covers the timing.
June · July
Every summer a plume of Saharan dust crosses the Atlantic and settles as a fine mineral film. The particles are hard and angular, so dry-wiping them scratches paint. That film comes off wet, under foam and a flood rinse.
All year
Gulf air carries salt miles inland, where it settles on horizontal panels and holds moisture against the finish until the shine dulls. Regular safe washes are the fix, and they matter double west of 41.
Storms & sprinklers
Afternoon rain dries fast on hot panels and leaves mineral rings, and reclaimed irrigation water carries a heavier load. Fresh spots rinse away; spots that bake through a week of sun need chemical or machine removal.
Nearly every swirl we're asked to polish out of paint got there during a wash. Tunnel washes are the worst offender: the same brushes and cloth strips drag every car's grit across your clear coat, which is where the spiderweb swirls you see in parking-lot sunlight come from. If a tunnel habit has already left its mark, that's paint correction work, and we do that too.
So the wash is the part we slow down for. Every standard exterior detail moves through the same four stages, in order.

Every exterior detail ends with protection on the paint. The question is how long you want it to last.
Depth. A surface with the salt, dust, and old wax stripped away reflects like glass again, and water stops clinging to it. Clients usually notice the color first; it reads a shade richer than they remember buying.
